Cognitive Development

Thursday August 24, 2017
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Participants will explore the multiple ways NJ Birth to Three Early Standards is intended to support children of differing backgrounds and abilities through the five domains of learning. Gain an understanding of the components of Exploration and Discovery, Memory, Problem-Solving, and Imitation and Symbolic Play as infants and toddlers develop over the four ages of infancy. We will define behavior indicators and caregiver strategies to assist the four ages of infants in practicing these four components of the Cognitive Development Domain.

The New Jersey Birth to Three Early Learning Standards (NJ B-3 ELS) provide families, child care providers, early childhood teachers, insitutions of higher learning, community members, and policymakers with research-based information to support the best learning and development for infants and toddlers.  Recommended for center-based, family child care (FCC), and Family, Friend, & Neighbor (FFN) early childhood professionals working with infants and toddlers.

In compliance with statewide standards, beginning January 1, 2016, registration for all free training offered through Child Care Connection's ECIPD will take place ONLY through the PINJ Registry for Early Childhood Professionals.  For all the information on becoming a PINJ member and registering for training, click here:
